How
Biotherapy Clinic can help people with
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis literally means
porous bones. Osteoporosis is a metabolic
disease affecting the skeleton which causes a
reduction in the amount of bone tissue. Did you
know that some of the bones in your body are
completely regenerated every three months? Our
bodies constantly break down and build bone.
It's a natural and necessary process. How else
would our bodies be able to heal broken bones?
The key is to keep this process
in balance, meaning you constantly build new
bone at the rate you break down existing bone.
As we age, this balancing act is not as
efficient. Bone mass density, or the weight of
the skeleton, may start to drop. In addition,
calcium absorption declines and our levels of
some vitamins, minerals and certain hormones
start to fall. All of these directly affect the
health of our bones -- and this goes for both
men and women.
More than 10
million Americans have osteoporosis (porous) and
another 34 million are at risk. 80% of those who
suffer from osteoporosis are women. A silent
disease, it comes with aging but often without
symptoms until a bone breaks. Bone loss is most
likely to develop in the hip, spine, wrist and
ribs. There are 1.2 million fractures each year
in the United States due to osteoporosis,
including 300,000 hip fractures, 700,000
vertebral fractures, and 250,000 wrist
fractures. A fractured hip is an all-too-common
prelude to death in elderly adults. Once they
are injured, it takes a long process to recover
and cause great inconveniences in one's daily
life even in simple movements such as sitting,
standing up, walking, etc.
You usually get an
advice: “Drink milk”, take calcium and you will
be OK.
It is not such a
simple thing. Read the facts.
Milk consumption
and calcium supplementation are very high in
Norway, Sweden, New Zealand and USA. And those
countries are in the top in the fractured hip in
elderly people. On the other hand, there are
areas in the world, for example Africa, where
people even don’t know the taste of milk, yet
their bones are normal.
What happens to
the calcium in our bones? How is it stolen?
The answer is
body’s acidity – chronic acidosis.
Acidosis and
osteoporosis.
Acidosis
is an excessive accumulation of various acids
in the body which have disease promoting
effects.
The condition known as “Chronic
Acidosis” is the contributing factor in
all-degenerative and autoimmune diseases.
Keeping the body in a slightly alkaline state is
the ideal situation. The average American Diet
will fall into the acidic range and tends to
neglect the alkaline diet range. As this occurs
the body will leech the alkaline reserves, such
as calcium, magnesium and manganese from the
bones and muscles. If the leeching of these
minerals and microelements is allowed to
continue, osteoporosis, arthritis and other
autoimmune and metabolic diseases will occur.
We, at the
Biotherapy Alternative Medicine Clinic, consider
chronic, low-grade metabolic acidosis to be a
major factor contributing to the development of
thin, weak bones and teeth.

The good news is that there’s a
lot you can do to help keep your bones strong
and resilient as you age.
Fortunately, there is a mineral
supplement that can restore the body's alkaline
mineral reserves and supply the body with life
important minerals and microelements, promoting
digestion and eliminating toxic acidic
compounds. It can also increase the alkaline
reserve, especially the main bicarbonate buffer
of blood. This supplement has been known as
Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water
(KVHMW)*.
At the Biotherapy Alternative
Medicine Clinic we believe that "you are what
you eat, digest, assimilate, and eliminate." You
can eat the healthiest natural food, but without
healthy eating habits, correct food combining,
and a proper functioning gastro-intestinal
tract, the "best" diet will not work. Using the
"healing power of food", we can give you a
Healing Food Consultations-
customized
diet plan that was developed in
European naturopathic clinics. There is no
effective healing process for any disorders an
especially for metabolic disorder - osteoporosis
without a special diet and proper food
combining.
Calcium is the
mineral that automatically comes to mind when
considering osteoporosis treatment. However,
although bone contains large amounts of calcium,
other minerals need to be considered as
important in the treatment and prevention of
osteoporosis. For example, other trace minerals
(minerals needed in small amounts for specific
tasks usually enzyme activation) would include
zinc, magnesium, and boron. Taking only calcium
alone is waste of money and useless. Calcium is
a very hard mineral to absorb. As a result, we
believe that you must take many forms of calcium
to absorb it properly. Also remember that many
expensive calcium supplements contain an excess
amount of lead and have failed quality testing
at a consumer laboratory.
Many people in North America who
consume an average diet have magnesium
deficiency. Magnesium is important in bone
structure and magnesium deficiency plays a
significant role in the development of
osteoporosis. Magnesium intake should be about
half that of calcium, approximately 300-500 mg
per day. Our supplement
Cal-6+ Mg provides a highly beneficial
source of dietary calcium together with other
nutrients such as Magnesium, Boron, Vitamin D, C
and other ingredients which assist in the
maintenance of healthy bone structure and
function*.
Norwegian Cod Liver Oil
obtained from the liver of the Atlantic cod and
related fish. Norwegian cod has traditionally
been one of the most popular natural sources of
Omega-3 and the fat-soluble Vitamins A & D.
Vitamins A and D help maintain bones, as well as
a healthy immune system.
Sublingual-12 Plus
contains Vitamin B-12 and Folic Acid. A Vitamin
B-12 and Folic Acid deficiency has been
implicated in a wide variety of disorders from
Alzheimer's disease to atherosclerosis, heart
attack, stroke, osteoporosis, cervical
and colon cancer, depression, dementia, hearing
loss, and more.
Acupuncture helps
to prevent osteoporosis before it attacks you!
Specific acupuncture points can stimulate the
growth of bone tissues and replace the tissue
lost fast enough to prevent the decrease in bone
density. Acupuncture treatments can also
alleviates pain and muscles spasms, strengthen
the muscles to support the body weight.
Acupuncture treatment is definitely important
for you if you are already suffering from
osteoporosis. It is perhaps the only treatment
that does not have side effects. The effect of
acupuncture is much greater when combined with
natural herbal treatment, food supplements,
diet, relaxation, exercise and whole body
cleansing.
Remember, bones
are living organs that remodel themselves
constantly. Nurture them, feed them properly,
heal them safely and they will respond.
